Alphacore will present its technical paper (#3633) at the 2017 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium being held in Fort Worth, Texas from July 23–28, 2017.
The paper, entitled “RFI Mitigating Receiver Back-End For Radiometers”, will illustrate Alphacore’s radiation hardened, low power RFI mitigating receiver back-end application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for broad band microwave radiometers ideally suited for Space and Defense missions.
New radiometer designs, with bandwidths greater than 1.5GHz, are needed for instruments on future Space missions which will significantly benefit from a radiation hardened, low-power receiver ASIC that has on-chip Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), digital filters and is optimized for RFI mitigation.
The rad hard ASIC detailed in our paper has a novel ADC design, and offers a low power, low mass, low data rate and higher reliability receiver back-end with maximum power dissipation well under half a Watt.
