Sensor Design

CMOS Image Sensor and ROIC Design

Designed from the pixel level up, we give our customers flexibility and optimized performance, tailored to fit their needs. We have extensive design experience in small geometry CMOS architectures, developing solutions from the visible to the infrared spectrum range.

We build image sensors and cameras for harsh radiation and extreme temperature environments. We also provide sensor evaluation kits, that can be used to characterize image sensor performance prior to integration.

Alphacore’s novel digital readout integrated circuit (DROIC) provides a unique digitally programmable resolution. The smart ROIC for dual band infrared focal plane arrays enables large format, high resolution, large dynamic range, and fast data rates, ideal for demanding applications. Alphacore also offers high-performance, low-cost multi-channel ROIC solutions for the advanced needs in experimental science.

Camera Core & System Design

Camera core design including hardware, firmware and software

Beyond image sensor and ROIC design, Alphacore also serves customers looking for more complete solutions.

Our camera cores are designed for high resolution and fast frame rates, and can easily be integrated with higher-level systems.

We also provide full camera system development services, including the enclosure and optics, and deliver fully custom and optimized imaging systems for target applications.

Customers can get clear, detailed vision for demanding applications that require reliable and high-performance camera systems. We also build ultra high-speed solutions capable of capturing extremely fact occurring events and movements.

Rad-Hard Camera Development

Image Sensor and Camera Designs for Harsh Environments

We bring our image sensor and camera system development expertise to applications in harsh radiation and temperature environments, such as space, defense, homeland security and medical imaging. We maintain the same levels of optimized performance and flexibility in our radiation-hardened designs, as well as designs for cryogenic temperatures.
