Radio Frequency (RF) Data Converters

RF transceivers (TxRx) use  ADCs and DACs at the receiver (Rx) and transmitter (Tx).

Alphacore’s high-bandwidth ADCs and DACs enable “Direct RF Sampling” architectures, which have numerous benefits compared to traditional TxRx architectures.

Alphacore’s industry leading ultra-low power dissipation meets the requirements of even the most dense Phased Array based architectures used in 5G technology.

ADC Architectures

ADCs continue to evolve beyond traditional architectures, paving the way for innovative designs to be implemented and realized.

At Alphacore, we combine the strengths of various types of ADCs to create novel hybrid converters. By employing architectures such as Flash, Pipeline and Successive Approximation Register (SAR), as well as voltage-time-to-digital converter (VTDC), we build ADCs that deliver industry leading performance.

ADCs that deliver Record Breaking Performance

State-of-the-Art Technology

Figure of Merit (FoM) combines sampling rate, bandwidth, effective resolution and power dissipation for an “apples to apples” comparison of ADCs. FoM values of the State-of-the-art ADCs are tracked using a Walden Chart, such as the one shown here.

Alphacore's ADCs have chart-topping performance, delivering the lowest power consumption in their bandwidth and resolution class.

Alphacore’s IP not only has world record performance, but it also has been verified with the most stringent design rules for PVT corners, high yield and high reliability.
