The DOE Office of High Energy Physics (HEP) requires advanced electronics and systems for the recording, processing, storage, distribution, and analysis of experimental data.
Alphacore’s low power optical link data interface solution is a low power, high-speed intellectual property (IP) block tolerant to the high total dose radiation levels required at CERN’s High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider’s (HL-LHC) calorimeter detector Front End Boards (FEBs). The major circuits in this data transceiver include a phase locked loop (PLL), serializer, and laser driver that are all optimized for radiation hardness.
