US Navy Awards SBIR Phase I Contract to Develop an Analog-to-Information Processor (AIP) capable of directly converting RF (radio frequency) signals to information

09-29-2016

Alphacore’s Analog-to-Information Processor (AIP) is an innovative high input bandwidth, high linearity input sampler and filter design which offers extremely low jitter at Nyquist frequencies.  It is ideal for the conversion of wideband and high dynamic range RF signals acquisition directly to information. The architecture also incorporates an ADC with a low sampling rate for significant power savings through reduced DSP computational loads.

There are many applications where an AIP can have a tremendous beneficial impact by lowering cost, reducing size and weight, and speeding results in domains where multiple signals of disparate nature must be analyzed and processed together. One of the most important tools for the defense and aerospace industries is radar. Space-based platforms are an ideal arena for this technology because of the potential size and weight advantages of a system where a single optical, radio or radar receiver can do the work of many.

Analog-to-Information Processing is also of growing importance in the commercial automotive market.
