US Air Force Awards Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II Contract To Continue Transition of Multi-Attribute Integrated Circuit Authentication and Reliability Techniques

07-14-2017

Alphacore has received SBIR Phase II funding to develop its demonstrated design flow for Design-for-Authentication (DfA) techniques. These include three main technology categories: 1) integrated circuit (IC) design, 2) IC testing, and 3) authentication and identification technology development.

DfA enables the US Air Force to aggressively protect against modifications at the circuit and process level, as well as alterations in the supply chain via insertion of counterfeit ICs not supplied by a legitimate IC vendor.

DfA will measurably counter threats for all critical IC users that include insertion of malicious circuitry in an IC, also known as hardware Trojans, intellectual property (IP) piracy, IC reuse, IC overproduction by a foundry to make additional profit via sales in aftermarket, and counterfeit ICs.
