Air Force Awards Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II Contract To Continue Transition of Integrated Circuit Authentication and Reliability Tool and Techniques

07-16-2017

Alphacore has received SBIR Phase II funding from the US Air Force to continue developing its Integrated Circuit Authentication and Reliability Tool and techniques. This new tool is a design for anti-counterfeiting (DFAC) and reliability determination used specifically in the area of die extraction and reassembly (DER) of microelectronics circuits. DFAC denotes solutions that are designed to identify counterfeit parts and also recycled parts, i.e. parts that have already been used.

A growing risk to national security is posed by the increasing appearance of electronic counterfeit parts within the supply chain of the Department of Defense and its subcontractors. In particular, the Air Force needs an inexpensive device to identify and authenticate DER components at any point in their lifetime to combat die and IC recycling.
